What would Jesus tweet? #itisdone 

Actually, I don’t know for sure, but I know He never said “you’re not a Christian if you don’t believe everything your neighbor believes.” 

It’s getting ugly guys. And we, Christians, seekers of Jesus Christ, are making it so.  

 Honestly,  with all the yelling, this is probably a waste of cyberspace.  

  
In its simplest form the Gospel was that Jesus died that you and I might live.  12-year-old Jami accepted this truth in a little Disciple of Christ Church in Victoria, Texas.  It was a simple message of love.  

For God so loved the World He gave His only Son.  

So refreshing. 

It was a separate message from sexual sin, foul mouths, killing babies, and how to serve refugees in a fallen world. 

  
I’d like to point out Jesus was a refugee.  But He was also betrayed by a “friend” who was on the lam with Him and lead His enemy straight to Him.  Jesus knew that there were enemies everywhere and He hid.  He evaded and avoided and His family fought hard to keep Him safe. He knew about borders and safe territory. He knew about politics and he knew about corruption… He knew about terrorists. 

  
  
There were good guys, bad guys and average Joes. There were quiet, gentle folks and aggressive, opinionated ones, and plain old everyday jackasses.  

  
When Jesus had all He could take He’d hop in a boat and drift and try and get a moment alone. Sometimes He was successful. Other times the masses won and they would find Him and He couldn’t help Himself – He would minister to them. And sometimes he fled.  Even when people were suffering, He had to flee to safety. 

 He is is near to the suffering, and He has solutions we cannot fathom. 

  
  
He was awesome. 

He still is. 

 He has a message. It’s a message of love. He didn’t bark at people. He got mad – but my daughter pointed out, the record states, He got mad on a really bad day. And it was a last straw. His cousin John was beheaded, He went for a boat ride, and then got called into preach, and then He went to church and saw His Father’s house being used as a market place.  

And he got mad.  

But we are barking mad all the time. Social media is taking Christianity and turning it into the laughing stock. And not in the “fools for Christ” way…  Just fools. 

The Good News is He did all that needed to be done. 

He told us to spread the Good News. 

Jesus died that you might have life and life abundant. 

He doesn’t need you to convince anyone of their sexual sin on Facebook. And He never ranted.  He taught.  Complex, thought provoking, gentle teachings.  

The woman at the well…

Jesus: had a few husbands huh?

Woman: Blush. “Yes.”  

Jesus: Gentleness…. “Ok. You don’t need to do that anymore okay, baby girl?” 

  
And she was different. 

Cause He was JESUS. He dealt with her. How about we lead by example? Do the best we can. Spread the GOOD NEWS – Give all glory to God. And then let Him do what He’s going to to do.  

Once He’s alive and living in our hearts He manifests that which is needed by the individual heart… The individual heart of a human being he ADORES. 

  
 
If we as Christians are barking – the peaceable Jesus that He ask us to teach isn’t accurately conveyed. I see non-believing friends and loved ones posting memes about barking Christians.  Oh brothers and sisters… I beg you, I feel like if Jesus had a single shoutout to believers it would simply be: 

#REPRESENT 

Calm down. Pray before you speak. Beg wisdom.
