Hi! I stumbled across your blog through a link posted by HipHomeschooling Moms on Facebook. I enjoyed reading your “open letter to my children” and it helped me put feelings and thoughts I have been having into words. We have three children (8, 5 and 18 months) and are trying our best (which is nothing really, unless we cling to Christ and his grace) to raise them in a Christ-centered way, and many of the thoughts expressed in your post echo our desire to raise them free from feelings of entitlement, self-worth and general smugness. We were just reading the other day with them the first beatitude, about what it means to be “poor in spirit”, and how only then can Christ fill us, and your post made my think about it again. I enjoy your writing style 🙂 I don’t expect you to answer, as I also read your response to “the haters” (our of curiosity) and I can see you have a tremendous rate of responses, be they positive or negative… By the way, I don’t live in the US, I am a half-Canadian half-Spaniard living near Barcelona Spain, so I was mildly intrigued by the ballet recital hoop-la and being able to highlight one’s child’s name on a program (??) Anyway, enjoyed it immensely and also got food for thought. Thanks a ton and will be following you! 🙂

I am honored. My daughter left her heart in Spain. If she ever goes back to open a flower shop you and I can meet for coffee! I love hearing from everyone. I am stumped by the responses as I had very few followers this time last week. Thanks for the follow and for the thoughtful response. In Christ, Jami

Couldn’t resist saying, I love your blog title… my floors are sticky more often than not (especially the kitchen) but it was nice to realize that yes, it is holy ground… a lot of work for God’s kingdom going on on them 🙂

Ah yes, I have a manuscript with that title. I try not to ever say “God told me” but He wrote that on my heart.

Just wanted to say thank you. I appreciate your humor and snarkiness (?). It’s comforting to know that as Christian women, we are allowed to be human, too.
